New washrooms, refurbished in keeping with the old
Visitor numbers to Hughenden Manor - National Trust are continuing to increase and improvements to the facilities were essential to ensure visitors are adequately catered for, whilst keeping the design in line with the style of the building.

One of the most important aspects of to this project was ensuring that the refurbishment was in keeping with the Victorian Stable yard, whilst using materials that were hardwearing, easy to clean and maintain.
Achieving this balance was a challenge – typically, materials in a Victorian Stable yard would include timber & metal which are not hygienic or easy to maintain! We overcame this by using materials more common in the washroom but upgrading various accent areas to give a definite nod to the ‘Spirit of Place’ theme.

We identified that the cubicles would have the most visual impact on the washroom aesthetics, therefore bespoke timber cubicles were made and were finished in paint from the Dulux Satin range to provide a wipeable finish.
DuPont Corian vanity tops were used, for a durable, easy-to-maintain finish with a traditional appearance. Victorian style pendant lights over the vanity area complimented the overall look.
Trovex Solid grade laminate duct panels & vanity units in elephant grey colour were used, which come with our 15 year laminate guarantee as standard. Trovex Diamond Wall cladding in Stone colour was also used on the walls to help prevent dirt build up and provide a hygienic finish.
