School changing room refurbishment in Cambridgeshire

Overview:

St Peter's School, part of the Cam Academy Trust, embarked on a significant washroom refurbishment project to modernise and optimise space in their changing room and shower facilities. Focus Washrooms was tasked with a complete overhaul of four areas, reconfiguring the layout to meet the evolving needs of the school.

Washroom design:

The project involved a comprehensive strip-out of the existing facilities, followed by a complete rearranging of the space. Toilets were worked into the new washroom design to help with increased demand. Plumbing and electrical works took place and new energy-efficient LED lighting with sensors were installed. Then throughout the rooms, non-slip flooring and hygienic wall cladding were installed to ensure safety and ease of maintenance.

A key feature of the project was the solid surface wash troughs mounted on vanity units, equipped with water-saving taps. This design not only enhances the aesthetic appeal but also minimises the risk of flooding and vandalism in the future.

Special features:

In order to maximise the limited space available, we undertook structural works to the flat roof, including the addition of skylights. This innovative approach brought in natural light, creating a brighter and more welcoming environment. The entire project was completed within the tight timeframe of the summer holidays, ensuring minimal disruption to school operations.

The Result:

The successful completion of this project has resulted in significantly improved changing and shower facilities for St Peter's School. The optimised layout, modern fixtures, and energy-efficient features provide a comfortable and functional space for students. Focus Washrooms' commitment to quality, efficiency, and innovative design has once again been demonstrated in this project.
